About Us

Revolution exists to help build communities where everyone has access to a bicycle.

Our company was formed through the integration of BCycle and Bicycle Transit Systems, uniting decades of experience designing, scaling, and operating bike share. Every step of the journey has moved us closer to the world we want to live in—as bicyclists, as parents, and as members of our communities. We didn’t come together by chance; we came together to build something better.

Revolution delivers docked bike share systems end to end. We design and manufacture bikes built for safety, durability, and a smooth ride. We create docks that are intuitive, accessible, and easy to install. We operate systems on the street, day after day, to ensure long-term reliability and performance. We build the backend software and mobile apps that bring these systems to life. We provide customer service led by real humans who understand the communities we serve. And we invest deeply in local outreach and community engagement to ensure bike share works for everyone—not just a few.

Bringing this breadth of expertise and true partnership in helping our clients achieve their priorities allows us to deliver bike share systems tailored to the specific needs of each place we serve. From large cities with integrated transit networks to small towns, and from college campuses to corporate environments, we bring the experience and flexibility to support communities of every size. We also believe how we operate matters—by creating a workplace where people can grow and thrive over the long term, we empower our teams to show up as thoughtful, committed partners in the communities they serve. The result is a cycle that strengthens both our company and the places we work.

Meet our pioneering leadership team

Since 2007, Alison (she/her) has dedicated her career to bike share, pioneering the industry in the US. As Co-Founder and President of Alta Bike Share, she launched Washington DC’s Capital Bikeshare, Boston’s Blue Bikes and NYC Citi Bike, which remain the largest multi-jurisdictional systems in the nation. She founded, and was CEO of BTS, before stepping into the Chair and President position. She has led every aspect of this evolving business, from hands on operation and implementation to contracting, business modeling, sponsorship, planning, feasibility studies and more. She is an avid athlete, having held the Lower Merion basketball scoring record that Kobe Bryant broke. She achieved #400 in the world in tennis, and set a Guinness World Record pushing her three children in a half-marathon in a jogger.

Kristin (she/her) leads the development and execution of our strategic plan guided by our mission, vision, and values. Previously, Kristin was GM of Philadelphia’s Indego bike share, where she steered the system’s achievement of high ridership, equity, and financial sustainability goals. Kristin’s passion for this work is driven by a deep belief that bikes improve communities and quality of life by providing physical and emotional health, social connection, and combating climate change. Kristin is a former nationally ranked endurance bike racer and now practices endurance sports as a mother of two young children and dedicated bike commuter.

Brian (he/him) leads strategic and daily operations with the General Managers of our 13 operated systems. Brian came to us from Trek, where he served in a series of roles from BCycle’s early days, and most recently as Executive Director of BCycle. Brian has lived every facet of the bike share business, including system launch, operations, business development, product and software development, vendor management, contract oversight, and customer support. Brian’s career is a testament to his commitment to advancing the bike share industry through innovative leadership, strategic partnerships, and a deep understanding of the complexities of urban mobility and public transportation. A former cyclist for the University of Wisconsin, Brian now turns these efforts to family bike rides in the neighborhood with his wife and children.

Ian (he/him) is passionate about building sustainable, people-centered communities through transportation solutions that confront the climate crisis. This conviction drives his decade-plus of leadership at the forefront of shared mobility, where he has scaled the infrastructure, teams, and systems required to support millions of bikeshare riders. As Chief Operating Officer, Ian oversees operations, product, technology, and customer service. Trained in applied statistics, Ian has spent his career interpreting data to guide practical decisions that improve the experience of our riders. He is fascinated by the hidden patterns that emerge when thousands of people move through a city each day, and how thoughtful system design can make sustainable transportation the easiest choice.
